Hi, My Name is MIA

Although it’s only December, I’ve decided to make this blog now.

I’m very excited about attending the Washington Journalism and Media Conference this July at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. I’ll admit that I cried when I got the letter in the mail even though I had no idea I’d been nominated. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I can’t wait to be a part of this summer.

For now, I can let you get to know me a little better.

I could make this a long blog and give you a short autobiography of myself. However I’ll just tell you a few things you should know about me: I love the Jonas Brothers, I love to be dramatic, I love to write, and I love using italics.

I’m also glad that the world didn’t end yesterday like it was supposed to.

My full name is Emilia Renee Cole but I prefer to be called Mia because I think it’s more modernized and cute. That’s what I am, cute. I love to make people laugh and put a ray of sunshine in their life when they need it. I also love to make new friends and act stupid in public. I do know, however, when to be mature and be taken seriously.

I live in a small town called Canton in the Tarheel State, North Carolina. I’m a sophomore at Pisgah High School and am counting down the days to graduation in May 2015.

I’m also crazy about Christmas, which is in 3 days.

Hoping someone is reading this,

Mia

  1. Great start to your blog Mia! Is getting into the conference a competitive process? What did you have to do to get selected? How long is the conference and what do you get to do there? So many questions! Would love to hear more about it….
